Correcting my Past Mistakes with 3 Hot Toddy’s | How to Drink

Okay, okay!!! I have heard all of you commenters and clearly there are strong feeling about what a hot toddy is. So today I am back at it was a few more hot toddy recipes and I think some of you may find yourselves making some additions to your regular recipes.

Commenters’ Toddy:
In Glass
.5 oz -or- 15 ml. Lemon Juice
1 oz -or- 30 ml. Honey Syrup
1.5 oz -or- 45 ml. Compass Box Scotch
Add a cinnamon stick
Stud a lemon wheel with cloves
Add star anise
Top off with hot water
Garnish with a bit of fresh nutmeg

Tea Toddy:
In Glass
Throw in a tea bag
.5 oz -or- 15 ml. Lemon Juice
1 oz -or- 30 ml. Honey Syrup
1.5 oz -or- 45 ml. Compass Box Scotch
Great Cinnamon and Nutmeg into glass
Top off wit hot water
Give it a little stir
Add studded lemon
Drop in a cinnamon stick
Remove tea bag

Morgenthaler Toddy:
Make a Bain Marie by adding hot water to the large tin and floating the small tin inside
In Bain Marie
Few bar spoons of Allspice Dram (St Elizabeth)
.75 oz. -or- 22 ml. Lemon Juice
1 oz. -or- 30 ml. Ginger Syrup
1.5 oz. -or- 45 ml. Old Granddad Bottled in Bond
Stir to heat up
Pre heat glass by pouring some hot water, discard before pouring drink
Transfer ingredients to glass
Top with hot water
Garnish with orange peel

San Fransisco Method Giger Syrup
Equal Parts Water
Equal Parts Sugar
Boil to dissolve
Pour over Equal parts ginger root
Blend the heck out of it
